Dr. Joan Agha
Joan Agha is a graduate of the University of Benin and University of Lagos, where she obtained her first degree in Business Administration and an MBA in General Management respectively. Her work experience includes here meritorious service of over 32 years in different renowned institutions; Federal Ministry of Education, Central Bank of Nigeria, Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCO) and Lastly, Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC). Where she worked until she retired in November 2011. She is currently the MD/CEO, Joan consulting.
Director, Joan Agba Kife Coaching Adademy (JALCA) and Founder and President of Joan Agha Foundation (JAF), AND President of United Nations Association of Nigeria (UNAM). Joan Consulting is a firm engaged in partnering with organizations and individuals in the provision of solutions to people, structures, strategy and technology – related challenges across industries in Nigeria. Joan Agba Foundation (JAF) is a non-governmental organization. The foundation was registered and officially launched on July 9, 2011. JAF aims at long term developmental programmes by addressing the needs of the indigent person in our society through educational scholarships, women and youth empowerment and JAF Kitchen. JAF in the last ten years of its existence has achieved the following:
- Granted educational scholarships to 37 students in primary and tertiary institutions
- Grants of 100,000 – 150,000 to 36 youth Entrepreneurs to start their business or expand existing businesses
- Granted soft loans without interest 20,000 – 200,000 to 74 women
- Trained 1160 women on entrepreneurial capacity building
- Trained 1014 youths on entrepreneurial capacity building
- 8,996 beneficiaries from her feeding initiative on the first day of every year in the past ten years called JAF Kitchen
- Partnered with International Women Society Skoll Acquisiiton Centre, Lagos, and Favoured World, Obinomba, and Delta State
- Partnered with Carrington Youth Fellowship Initiative (CYFI) of the USA Consulate General, Lagos, Nigeria, to train youths in different skills. This is to make them productive members of the society.
- Donated Educational relief materials to 370 students
- Provided twelve sewing machines to youth vocational training institute Holy Family Parish located in Kasungu, Malawi, East Africa to empower orphans on vocational skills.
Over the years, she has undergone Professional, Management and Leadership training such as; Certified Life Coach from Inspired Spirit Coaching Academy, Australia, Leadership Development Forum for Women Executives. Leading Edge Academy, Malaysia, General Management for Specialist, Cranfield School of Management, UK, Consulting Skills, Technique for Change, London UK. And Professional Development Programs Harvard Extension School, Boston USA. amongst other national and international courses.
Joan Agha is an Accredited Management Trainer, a Certified Management Consultant, a Fellow of The Institute of Management Consultants and a Fellow of the Institute of Management Specialist. She has co-authored an international book titled “In the Spirit of Abundance” with world-class motivational speakers and renowned bestselling authors such as Brian Tracy and Jack Canfield. She has successfully trained top management staff internationally on numerous occasions, with the recent training held in Dubai, UAE.
She is happily married to Dr. G.U Billy Agha, and they are blessed with children and grandchildren.
